Bag Making Is Back—And Better Than Ever

In 1987, American-Newlong introduced our first SOS shopping bag making machine to the U.S. market, following the successful launch of our first grocery bag making machine eight years earlier. Now, with decades of proven performance and countless successful installations behind us, we’re proud to unveil the next generation of bag making technology.

We’re excited to announce that our new demonstration SOS bag making machine, model 1546CTS+536HS, will be operational and available for private viewing in Summer 2025 at our Mooresville, Indiana facility.

This advanced roll-fed system is equipped with both concealed and unconcealed flat handle making units, offering maximum versatility. At its core is an intuitive touchscreen interface, which centralizes control, monitoring, and adjustment functions. Built-in recipe-driven memory and servo technology enable rapid changeovers—often in less than an hour—streamlining production while minimizing downtime.

A standout feature of this machine is its belt-driven, shaftless design, which reduces mechanical complexity and wear. This results in easier maintenance, greater long-term reliability, and enhanced operational efficiency. The simplified structure also contributes to smoother performance and quieter operation, extending the machine’s productive lifespan.

With a production capacity of up to 180 bags per minute, the 1546CTS+536HS reflects American-Newlong’s ongoing commitment to precision engineering and innovation. Features like advanced paper tension control ensure consistent, high-quality output even at maximum throughput.

Experience the performance, flexibility, and reliability that come standard with every Newlong Machine Works solution - schedule a private demonstration today!
